Player`s review Minted Poker

Minty Fresh Poker Play

Mintedpoker.com is part of the Everleaf gaming network and, as such, has a ready-built cache of European and US players that have been around the online poker scene since just after its inception. The beauty of the site-- aside, of course, from its sleek, soft layout and its 40% rake back deal-- is that it's one of the few sites left on the web that actually allow for US players. As such, I think them heartily.

So many of the European sites, in reaction to the silly laws passed a couple of years ago here in the US, have barred us Yanks from playing with them, so as to avoid, I suppose, a whole slew of complaints from the silly regulators who had the laws passed. On the other hand, if there were ever an international crisis over international gambling disputes, I'd say that there were definitely something profoundly and fundamentally wrong with the way the world's nations prioritize our controversies.

The site offers a range of games that run the conventional gamut, with Limit and No- Limit versions of Hold' Em, Pot-Limit and Fixed Limit Omaha (along with Omaha Hi/Lo, thankyouverymuch0< as well as a few 7 Card Stud tables, just for good measure. They also have a fairly wide tournament selection for those of you who (like me) prefer the rush of a tournament play versus the more predatory and, in theory, more lucrative cash tables. Traffic is midland and the tables are a little tighter than some, which might lend to those of you who would rather spend you poker time in fishtanks to take your action elsewhere. As for me, I'm much, much more comfortable in a place where the people who decide to sit at the tables know how to play. It can be irritating to be surrounded by too many fish and dull for those of us who not only like the money associated with play, but the challenge as well.

The folks over at Everleaf (I mean, Minted) also offer 24-hour e-mail, chat, and phone support for all players. The e-mail respo nse time is pretty quick, and the online chat support is pretty perfect. They're courteous and timely and thorough-- all of which are rarities in tech support and, again, are to be dully commended.

There has been a lot of discussion on different forums about the changeover from Everleaf to Minted. I don't know what prompted the name change and am sure that, if any of you were to be particularly enterprising and ask, someone there would tell you. While you're there, though, thank them for allowing for all of us to play.
