Player`s review NoIQ Poker
Not Poker for Dummies: NoIQ Poker If nothing else, the team who created NoIQ Poker should get massive points for coming up with one of the funniest names in the internet poker microcosm, not the least of which is because, at least historically speaking, poker is a thinking person's game when played well. We're guessing that the name itself is an indication that the folks over at NoIQ are trying to recruit mainly guts players to their sight. Yay! A boon for weirdo nerdy cerebral players. . .like ME! But alas, No IQ is a European-based, European-only site and, as such, US players are sadly disallowed from play. The NoIQ team joined up with the Entraction network in January of this year, and since then has seen an exponential growth in traffic. During peak times, they boast a player number of around 10,000 players on a fairly conventional range of tables. They offer the usual gamut of games--Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, and Seven-Card Stud; but they also run 5-Card Stud on Low and Medium Stakes, which is a nice and fast way to puts around while waiting on a tournament to start. They offer round-the-clock support via e-mail and a phone support for a limited number of hours during the business day. The turnaround time for their e-mail support is superb, so while they might lack the immediacy of a chat line support, their e-mail version makes up for it. It also helps that they offer said support in fifteen languages, so every member iof the EU should be able to fin the help they need in the language in which they're most comfortable. Graphics on the site are stable and relatively unimaginative, but comfortable, and the interface and navigation of pages are straightforward and easy to understand, even for the folks who come onto the site for the first time. Action tends to be rather loose, which, again, is great for those of you who like coming into a fish tank just to feast, but frustrating for those of us who actually enjoy finding challenges at the tables. The players here are actually pretty cordial at least from my experience and, as I was bouncing ever slightly upwards in the level of play, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the caliber of the players. Apparently, then, the name NoIQ is just a joke. That's a pity, since I was actually looking forward o sitting in at a site where I was, for once, the smartest player in the room. |
