Player`s review Pacific Poker

Pacific Poker (or 888.com, depending on what you prefer to call it,) bills itself as the “#1 Poker Room online,” though the billing is a questionable one.  Yes, Pacific offers a no-download version, so you can pretty much get your fix for play anywhere you find yourself in front of a computer and there are usually quite a few people on the server at any given time, but those who do play on Pacific tend towards the fishier end iof the game-play spectrum.

The sorts of players 888.com tend to attrract are the people who watch a lot of poker on ESPN and think that in every deal there is a monster hand, so the betting structure tends to be fast, loose, and relatively stupid.  The people who play on Pacific Poker, by and large (and I have no idea how they get recruited) all tend towards young, internet-for-fun sorts of players, so those of you who might be used to playing among more skilled and tighter players will get frustrated easily.  Be warned.  That said, the atmosphere is pretty friendly and the games offered are, while not as varied as some of the other ultra-popular sites, varied enough to keep a beginner occupied until they're ready to move on to a better forum of players.

Support for the site leaves something to be desired.  I live in the US and tried to access the site through its no-download option and had to do a Google search of the site to find out that, yes, the site has recently taken a no-US players policy, courtesy of my beloved country's few-years-long crackdown on online gambling websites.  Most players around the world are allowed access (that is, countries without said restrictions on such sites,) though, so anyone from across either of the major ponds (or, for that matter, below us,) enjoy your play there.

Games are offered on a limited range (as they're dominated by novice players, most of the high-volume tables are in the No-Limit Hold'em category,) but the traffic there is fairly high, so anyone who wants to make a quick score off of a boatload of fish can theoretically be in and out of the site quickyl with a pretty substantial stack.

Once you jump through the hoops of the registration process, the e-mail support offered is quick to send you form letters and a little slower on sending in-person responses, but there have been generally good reviews from Europe about the services through e-mail.  Their call center, however, leaves something to be desired, so in the event that you do have an issue with, say, account wrangling and fund reception, it's best that you shoot them an e-mail rather than frustrate yourself with a long phone call where you spend most of your time listening to muzak and almost none of it getting your issues settled.
