Player`s review Unibet Poker
Okay, so I'm always a little leery when I turn on the television and watch Unibet poker tournaments or cash games. There was this short-lived show on Bravo that had poker tournaments for celebrities, and I swear that that show more than any other contributed to the glut of fishy players you run into on every site and at every home game I come across when I play anymore. Once the widespread popularity of Holed 'Em hit the Sunset strip and people started playing online for charities, an entire subset of fish was created: the fish who, because he saw James Woods making quips on some celebrity poker tournament, talks a lot of trash but never wins a hand. Yes, I know that I should be happy about this-- I mean, the more fish there are in the world, the more us moderate-to-sharky players potentially have to gain-- but still, the advent and infusion of non-rounding celebrities to the game of poker added a certain amount of glam to it with which I'm still very uncomfortable. Luckily for me (or maybe for them,) neither Jennifer Tilly nor James Woods are grinning at me when I visit the site. Also luckily for me (or maybe for them,) after the laws started to clamp down on US players, Unibet Poker shut its virtual doors to the likes of little old me. This might be a case of the fox calling the grapes sour when they're too far off of the branch for him to reach, but from what they offer I'm rather non-plussed about being excluded from playing at the site. The game selection is rather narrow, though it does cover the basics with limit and no limit versions of Hold 'Em and Omaha (in Hi-Lo, too,) and the standard stud fare. The site features the cool note-taking option (where you can track the actions of other players) that catapulted Poker Stars into such massive popularity. The site looks relatively easy to maneuver, simple, and straight-forward, and the screen shots suggest a clean, sleek look that just might be customizable to players' personal tastes. Those of you who are able to play can use several methods of money management. They accept Paysafe, NetTeller, all major credit cars, and more and also offer play for those who'd practice with play money tables available as well. |
