Player`s review Virgin Poker
Like a Virgin Poker Not to be left out of the poker market either, mega corporation Virgin has put together their own poker site, unimaginatively (though intelligently) called Virgin Poker. Of course considering they already have an airline, a huge music store, and a phone company, who's to say that putting poker onto their ever-growing list of companies is a stretch? Certainly not us. In fact, we recommend that the folks at virgin do more. Being that they're Virgin Corp and thusly want to keep all who enter into one of their sites to buty more of their products elsewhere, the folks at Virgin Poker have set up an interesting credit system called Virgin Points, wherein you can trade points earned on the poker site at others affiliated with the corporation. Don't get too excited, though: 1 Virgin point equals one Euro pence, so you still have to play (and win) quite a few hands in order to redeem the points for any really choice merchandise. Still, the idea of being able to buy copies of any movie within their vast database of films and CDs is an attractive prospect and a great marketing move on their part. In fact, it would probably be a good move for the Virgin people to come up with very specific, product-oriented promotions that would keep people who haven't already jumped onto their bandwagon tio do so., companies like these, who are able to expand on an already thriving business model, do wonders for continuing to bolster an already thriving Poker community. Inclusive promotional deals-- especially with a business behemoth like Virgin-- can serve to expand and already popular medium and, as the marketers at Virgin are undoubtedly aware, can bring in more inexperienced players, thereby fattening the coffers of both the website itself and those who thrive on playing off of them. The game choices cover all the basics, with 5 Card Stud putting itself into the mix along with Omaha, Hold'em, 7 Card Stud and 5 Card Draw. They've set up a clean sparse, and efficient look, though it's coupled with the trademark Virgin black-andred color scheme. They have no avatars, but the cards themselves are easy to read, making for a gamuing experience that's worthy of the Virgin title. The players at thesite leave something to be diesired, though, which means that those of you who thrive on fish tanks wil do quite well. Thos of you looking to find tighter play, though, should look somewhere else. |
